Have you heard about Federal RePORTER?  It’s a new single web portal that allows you to search federal-funded science projects across multiple agencies.  The searchable database includes research projects funded by:

  • Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) operating divisions (NIH, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration, Administration for Children and Families, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality)
  • Environmental Protection Agency
  • National Aeronautics and Space Administration
  • National Science Foundation
  • Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Center for Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine
  • Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs of the Department of Defense
  • United States Department of Agriculture  cropped-cropped-toolkit-24157707-copy.jpg

How is Federal RePORTER useful?

  1. It allows researchers as well as the public to see the impact of funding.
  2. You may find investigators working in similar areas to develop potential collaborative relationships, find reviewers, and see scientific advances in specific fields across agencies.
  3. You may do advanced text searches, search across all or only a few agencies of your choice, and choose fiscal years of interest.
  4. Researchers and research administrators may confirm project periods, awarded budget information, abstracts, publications associated with a project, and collaborators for active projects.  All of this information may be helpful for annual and interim progress reports as well as final closeout reporting.

The site is still in alpha testing and your feedback is welcomed.  Check it out!
